Review
Paul Krugman,
who has been praised for his ability to make complicated economic
issues stunningly easy to understand, has created a masterpiece
guide to the tax cut. Krugman admits in the first chapter that
he is offering a slant on the issue, but then proceeds to look at
each and every issue in an in depth manner, often suggesting
possible solutions. In an attempt to make the issues
understandable, Krugman delves rapidly but fluently into background
issues with prose which is both enjoyable and educational.
Reaching into issues such as Social Security, Budget Projections and
Plan Basics, Krugman's work offers a superb and quick read which
will thoroughly expand your outlook on the tax cut and on politics
in general. The book would even serve as an excellent fire
starter for informed and conversational debates on both economics
and politics in an educational setting.
A professor at
Princeton University, Krugman is the author of several novels and an
economics textbook. At the same time he writes a bi-weekly
column for the New York Times. Krugman chides in this work
"On a more personal note, this book offers me an opportunity
for a longer form of discussion that can't be squeezed into 735-word
columns in the New York Times."
